He’s quite aggressive but not in the violent way, just the annoying persistent way—So if he’s blocking the door and asking you if you’ll go to dinner with him—You either go to dinner with him or walk away cause you ain’t getting’ in that store gurl.
He will spend most of his free time relaxing, laying about in the grass lost in his thought. He doesn’t like to stress out over much and doesn’t take things too seriously unless he’s making tea. For himself. He thinks that one should live their life happily no matter what. And however you obtain happiness – He’d be more than willing to lend a hand at that.
History: Jung Hee came from a fishing village. His family were traditionally a very strong fishing family as it’s all they had done for generations. He hated it. He hated fish, fishing, boats— Anything of the sort. And the smell of the sea made him so sick he always felt like vomiting. Most of the village children made fun of his terrible intolerance most of his life. There was one place however—That he was always able to escape the stench of the village. On the outskirts of the town, was small tea and herbal medicine shop run by an old man and his granddaughter. Jung Hee loved the smell of the tea and how calm and peaceful he felt whenever he went there. Even more—Jung Hee found a great companion in the old man’s daughter, Xue Mei. She was quite beautiful and always wore a water lily in her hair.
As the two grew older, Jung Hee’s love for Xue Mei grew more and more.
The two would run off late at night into the forest where there was a waterfall that poured into a lake. They would spend hours and hours wading and walking in the water just to admire the water lilies and how beautiful they were. Time passed and Jung Hee was convinced that Xue Mei was the person he would spend the rest of his life with. His love for her ran so deep that he thought he couldn’t love anyone else but her.
Xue Mei however— Had never told Jung Hee that she was quite sick. She deteriorated quite quickly, becoming bedridden around the age of 16. Jung Hee searched for any way he could to cure her, even looking for an extremely rare water lily Xue Mei had once told him could heal sicknesses. Knowing she wouldn’t live for much longer, Xue Mei gave Jung Hee her hair clip before he left to look for the water lily. After searching and searching for weeks— Jung Hee returned to Xue Mei’s home only to be told she had died.
Heart broken and feeling guilty that he never realized her sickness earlier, Jung Hee decided to leave the village. The old man encouraged Jung Hee, gave him his personal kiseru pipe and some tea leaves for his travels. The old man assured Jung Hee that he was always welcome back, and that Xue Mei only wanted him to find happiness even without her.
Jung Hee spent two years traveling from town to town, indulging in whatever anyone told him would make him feel better. Most days, he simply laid in his bed, weeping to himself unable to forget his pain. Soon enough, he grew tired of travelling and being in pain. He decided the next town he came across, he would settle down and make sure he would find happiness. No matter what it took.
Finally coming across the town of Luna Della Rosa, Jung Hee decided he would throw his despair away. Hoping this town would help him find the happiness he was searching for.
